Brief Introduction of Drama and Film and Television Studies
The discipline of Drama and Film and Television Studies is based on the researches of cultural and artistic property, the phenomenon of language communication to explore the rules of the creation of drama, film and television. The artistic theory and aesthetic principles are integrated into the research and creation of drama, film and television out of the consideration of the occurrence and development of the theory and practice of contemporary drama, film and television. On the basis of maintaining the independence of regional culture and national culture, this subject is to use the advanced reserching methods and concepts of drama, film, and television in contemporary westward for reference to improve the richness and the holographic nature of the discipline. Drama and film and television studies are the research of the language and narrative art in the five first-tier programs in art. In 2011, the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council decided to upgrade the subject of art to discipline, the subject of drama, film and television studies was upgraded to first-tier program as well.
The discipline of Drama and Film and Television Studies at Sichuan University began to enroll students in 2012 , relying on the powerful television, film, drama and art theory background of the College of Literature & Journalism, and it has the researching directions of drama and opera study, the film study, radio and television study, etc. There are six 6 tutors in this discipline, including the academic leader in Sichuan Province, Professor Li Feng, the flying award winner, Professor Yi Dan, Professor Cao Junbing, Professor Xiao Wei, Professor Ding Shumei, and Associate Professor Wang Bin. In recent years, a group of young doctors are also introduced to this discipline. This discipline has basically formed a reasonable age echelon, a complementary academic directions, therefore, the academic cluster adevantage is obvious. In recent years, this discipline has received several national social science fund projects, covering the academic fields of image narration and television, youth film, the cutting edges of film in Japan, Korea and Asia, the film market and policy of Europe, banned opera, etc. At present, the discipline has enrolled more than 40 graduate students, to provide the society with a number of outstanding drama, film and television workers.
